Green-glazed earthenware from Fort St. Louis was traced by THC archeologists to the Saintonge region of France. Vessel forms represented are plates, bowls, soup pots, and cooking pots. Analysts Nancy Reese and Kathleen Gilmore found considerable variation in this group. Some of the sherds had a slip under the lead glaze, others had simply been glazed in the characteristic apple-green color. The unifying element was a medium to coarse gray pink paste.
